CONTROL ZONE

Hey Boomers!

The big Two-Five-Oh is upon us! Our first ish back in 1993 seems long ago (well, it was!), and it’s taken a long time to get here. So how do we mark this event? How do we show the world that STC is still as sharp as it ever was and the blue blur has lots of life left in him?

Enter… The Battle For Mobius, the single longest STC story ever, with an all-star creative team and more twists than a twisty thing!

And it’s a fond farewell to mega-humes Ed Reynolds, Zak Simmonds-Hurn, and Chris Gould, who (aside from some snazzy upcoming posters) are leaving STC-O for the wider, wonderful world of paying comic work! Buy their stuff when it comes out, or we’ll send the Troopers round!

The Story So Far...

Over two years ago, Sonic made a deal with the alien Drakon Empire to gain the Chaos Tap, a device needed to stop Mobius’ destruction… but he knew they might one day use it to launch an invasion! Now, thanks to a media smear campaign and being framed by an old foe, Sonic is Mobius’ most wanted and isolated from his friends. Mobius is at its most vulnerable…

Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic was the super-fast hero of Mobius and led a gang of freedom fighters until he was framed for crimes he did not commit. Now he’s dropped off the face of the planet…

Tails

Tails is an optimistic young fox who uses his two tails to fly for short periods. He idolised Sonic but has also become a respected hero in his own right - if only anyone would notice!

Amy Rose

Although Amy first met Sonic when she was claiming to be Sonic's girlfriend, she has since proved a hero in her own right with her trusty crossbow. She has a wicked sense of humour and loves winding her friends up!

Knuckles

Knuckles has been the sole guardian of the Floating Island and its mysterious Chaos Emeralds for 8000 years – reborn after every death! He recently learnt how far his people went to ensure the Emeralds would be guarded, and he’s living his last life…

Tikal

An echidna seer who from the ancient past, Tikal’s memories were repressed by a magic spell to stop her going mad.

Porker Lewis

Although he was once the technological whiz of Sonic's gang, Porker lost his nerve after being held hostage on an alien planet for a month. He now lives on the Floating Island.

The Chaotix Crew

Technology wizard Vector the Crocodile, super-strong Mighty, sneaky Espio the Chameleon and barmy Charmy Bee are Chaotix, former Guardians of the Special Zone! The Zone was destroyed and they now reside on Mobius.

Hobson & Choy

The cowardly, wheeler-dealer Choy and super-strong, dim Hobson are reporters for KBC. It was Choy’s documentary that started off the smear campaign against Sonic!

Dr. Ivo Robotnik

A laboratory accident long ago turned the kindly Professor Kintobor into the evil Doctor Robotnik! Once the evil dictator of Mobius, years of defeat left him muted and mad. The Doctor’s current whereabouts are unknown- but the mere memory of him strikes fear into the heart of every Mobian!

The Drakon Empire

8000 years ago, the Drakon Empire created Chaos Energy and battled the Echidna’s over the Emeralds that contained them – Emeralds that could only be found on Mobius. They’ve been secretly sowing fear across Mobius, in advance of a new invasion…
